Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation from the United States
Kenya replaced its visa system with an electronic travel authorisation that every visitor applies for online before travelling. Valid for a stay of up to 90 days.
What is required
Passport bio page scan
RequiredValid for at least six months from your date of arrival.
Passport-style photograph
RequiredA recent portrait, taken or uploaded during the application.
Where you are staying
RequiredA hotel booking or the address and contact details of your host.
Return or onward ticket
RequiredConfirmed travel out of Kenya within the period you are permitted to stay.
What the authority charges
- eTA$32.50
These go to Directorate of Immigration Services, Kenya, not to us. We never add anything to a government fee.
Decision time: Usually decided within about three days. Apply at least a week before travel.
What cannot be done for you
Nothing. There is no physical step on this route at all, and nobody needs to handle your passport.
